How does His Word Coffee roast its coffee?
We roast specialty coffee in Vancouver, Washington using a fluid-bed air roaster. Hot air moves the beans through the roasting chamber so heat reaches them without the beans resting against a heated drum. Each product page lists the coffee's current roast and buying options.
What is air-roasted coffee?
Air roasting, also called fluid-bed roasting, uses moving hot air to lift and roast the beans. Drum roasters use a rotating heated drum. Both methods can produce specialty coffee; we use air roasting because it gives us direct control over airflow, heat, and roast development.
Should I choose whole bean or ground coffee?
Choose whole bean if you have a grinder and want to adjust the grind for your brewer. Choose a ground option when convenience matters. Available grinds vary by coffee, so use the choices on the current product page rather than a general chart.
What is the difference between a single-origin coffee and a blend?
A single-origin coffee highlights coffee from one place or producer group. A blend combines coffees to build a consistent flavor profile. Use the tasting notes and roast information on each product page to choose based on the cup you want, not on one category being better than the other.
What do the tasting notes on a coffee mean?
Tasting notes describe natural flavor impressions people may notice in brewed coffee, such as chocolate, citrus, nuts, or berries. They are not added flavors. Your brewer, grind, water, and recipe can change which notes stand out in the cup.
