Q: What is air roasting and why does it matter for specialty coffee? Air roasting (also called fluid-bed roasting) uses hot air to roast coffee instead of metal drum contact. The advantage is less risk of scorching the bean surface, which means cleaner, more origin-forward flavor in the cup. Drum roasting can produce excellent coffee too, but air roasting fits our preference for clarity and roast-to-roast consistency.
Q: Can I visit the roastery? The Vancouver roastery is a working production space, not a retail cafe, so we do not have regular walk-in hours.
