About this size and origin
This is the 5-pound bulk version of Colombia El Tiple, designed for offices, churches, large households, and anyone who burns through more than a 12-ounce bag a week. The coffee is the same single origin we ship in our 12-ounce bag: a semi-washed lot from the Huila region of southwestern Colombia, between the Eastern and Central Andean ranges. Cool nights at high elevation slow cherry maturation and concentrate sugars. The semi-washed process leaves some sticky mucilage on the parchment-covered seed during drying, which shows up in the cup as deeper caramel and dried fruit while keeping the clean balance washed Colombians are known for. The 5-pound bag uses the same valve-sealed packaging as our smaller sizes and ships within 2 to 3 days of roast. Roast date is printed on the bag. For storage, keep it sealed in the original bag and pour off into a smaller airtight container only what you will use in 2 to 3 weeks.
